Moïse Katumbi Solidarity withf Uvira Flood victims.
Reactions continue to fall after the floods in Uvira, in the province of South Kivu.
The former governor of Katanga and president of the political party Together for the Republic, Moïse Katumbi called for the accompaniment of all the victims.
Touched by this unfortunate event, the tenor of the presidency of the Lamuka coalition calls on the government to act quickly and effectively.
“Today, Uvira mourns its deaths, like yesterday, so many other provinces stricken by the rains. Let us entrust the victims to God, let us accompany those who have lost everything. The state must step up its aid, act quickly and efficiently. Together, let’s help them overcome this ordeal! Reacted Moïse Katumbi via his Twitter account.
According to the provisional assessment given Friday April 17 by the provincial executive of South Kivu, the rains which fell in Uvira left at least 24 dead and destroyed more than 3,500 houses.
In total, 77,000 people are affected by this natural disaster.
The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi called on the government to do everything possible to help the affected populations, by freeing up the necessary resources.
It should be noted that the floods also affected the provinces of Haut-Lomami, Maniema and Tanganyika. A strong multisectoral government delegation is expected in a few days in all these provinces.
