The Nande community as a whole deplores the many savage killings perpetrated in recent days in the territory of Rutshuru in North Kivu, resembling genocidal interethnic wars. Announcement made this October 30, 2020 in Goma, in a statement of indignation read by Kambale Kaviti Herman, president of this structure.

Members of this community condemn the irresponsible speeches of certain politicians and local leaders, which have resulted in loss of human life to the detriment of their personal interests.

“Through irresponsible speeches, certain politicians and local community leaders incite peaceful citizens to acts of hatred and barbarism. At the present time, in less than 5 days, there are already 13 dead and three missing from different ethnic groups, namely the Hutus and the Nandes ”, we read in this statement.

However, while condemning with the last energy all these acts of hatred and barbarism for which the population is innocently paying, the Nande community calls on all the inhabitants of Rutshuru, whatever their ethnic origins, to refuse to give in to the hateful manipulation. It invites the population to dissociate themselves from these manipulative politicians, and if necessary, to denounce them.

It is up to the judicial and security services to urgently initiate investigations aimed at unearthing the string pullers and ensure that they do not go unpunished. Members of this community call on the government to strengthen protection measures for the entire civilian population living in this area, in particular by providing the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) and other security services with the necessary resources. to impose peace in this region.

In addition, the Nande community invites everyone to respect human life, a precious gift from God. He urges politicians and community leaders of separatist and avowed tendencies to protect themselves from the demon of division of peaceful populations; because having always deceived the latter that the only solution of happiness lies in division.
