The Governor of the city-province of Kinshasa, Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka, officially launched the operation “Sokola Boulevard Lumumba”. It happened on Saturday July 25, 2020. To ensure the applicability of the operation “ Sokola Boulevard Lumumba ”, he announced the creation of a brigade, endowed with the competence of OPJ, which will be responsible for monitoring sanitation operations and ensuring respecting the principles of sanitation throughout the city-province of Kinshasa.

Unable to complete the day’s activity without mentioning it, Gentiny Ngobila insisted to the population on strict compliance with barrier gestures in order to fight against the spread and contamination of the Coronavirus: washing hands, wearing a compulsory mask. Certainly, the state of health emergency has been lifted, but the Covid-19 pandemic has not yet been completely eradicated. A batch of hydro-alcoholic masks and gels has been given to the various mayors who will distribute them to their citizens after Salongo.
