The 17th Ethiopian Nationalities and Peoples Day was celebrated by Information Network Security Administration (IMEDA) in various programs.
The vice director of IMEDEA Mrs. Tigist Hamid said that Ethiopia is the mother of many nations, nationalities and people, creating a national team that can lead the masses in a democratic way is a great responsibility for the current generation.
The Deputy Director stated that building a sustainable federal system that reconciles Ethiopian identity and national identity is a great national responsibility that requires all of our effort and participation. From this point on, every section of the society is expected to discuss, give ideas and come to an agreement on national federalism.
It is clear that compared to other countries that follow national federalism, it is clear that our country’s short lived federalism system will face many ups and downs in such a short period of time, said Mrs. Tigist. We need to overcome the many problems our country is facing and strengthen our national unity and continue our prosperity journey. A word for both of us They said we should go in and prove our words.
At the end, the leaders and members of the IMEDA said that besides fulfilling the mission given to us by the government and the people, we should have a full understanding of the federal system and fight for all the issues that are obstacles to the system as an Ethiopian citizen.
On the day, Mr. Girma Cheru, the head of the Peace Ministry of State Relations Desk, on the identity of federalism and federation, their behaviours and international experiences and current situations, was presented and discussed.
