In Antakiya Gemza Woreda capital city Mekoy north west direction 5 km. It is located in Mekedesa Kebele, one of the 12 kebele’s of the district, located in Mesal tribe. Historical information shows that it was founded by followers of Islam religion from different areas. Mesal is located in North South Wollo zone Worailu, Degan and Kalu districts, East Oromia zone Dawa Chefa district, West Gisherabel district and South Antakiya Gemza district . From the district head The city of Mekoy takes you 15 minutes by car. Mesal is named after the founder Mesal came here. It’s also said that it got the name for two reasons.

One is from a promise that is found in the place of religion and the second is related to the saying “I will bring this if this is done to me”. For the people who are drawn to this place, they say that it got the name because it is quick to help and to do bad deeds.

MesalThe drum is from 200 years ago and different religious services are performed on it.  Many religious communities come from different districts to make offerings, celebrate Mawlid and Ziara holidays. In this case, the holiday was celebrated by religious leaders in the area and is still being celebrated, so it makes the place special.
Mesal reconciles the people who are accused of fighting each other from different parts of the country. They reconcile those who are not willing to be trusted. Therefore, this religious place  serves the community by conducting religious judgments to prevent conflicts from spreading or getting worse.
