A woman was beheaded in her field and three other women were stripped before being released. This incident took place on Wednesday, November 9 in the Lambo Katenga sector, 140 km northeast of Kalemie, in the province of Tanganyika.
The inhabitants of the place accuse the Mai-Mai “Hapa na pale” of being at the origin of this beheading given that they are active in the region.
“The family has longed for the return of the woman from their field. When we arrived at the field, we found her with her head decapitated, ”explains a witness.
In the meantime, the three other naked women were taken hostage first, before being released several hours later.
“They were captured in their fields by Twa fighters, who stripped them naked. The people of Lambo Katenga no longer know where to go! », Explains another resident.
For the local civil society, it is a humiliating act which touches the life of the population of the village. The same source informs that the inhabitants have significantly reduced their movements towards the fields.
Chief Lambo Katenga reveals that he is not aware of these incidents. He recognizes that his entity is experiencing increased insecurity due to the presence of armed groups.
He believes that there are no solutions to restore peace in this region.
“Such cases often happen even along the way, kidnappings of bikers; it is pitiful! These are cases that persist; there are no solutions. The government is there; the soldiers are there. Well, nothing gets done! », He lamented.
Chief Lambo Katenga calls for the involvement of the authorities and the security services in order to alleviate the suffering of the local population.
