A discussion was held in which newly prepared and established Ethiopia health institutions were held by regional health bureau representatives, regional health control sector officials, ministry of health institutions and work department heads/representatives and stakeholders representatives.
The minister of health Dr. Liya Tadesse attended the discussion stage and stated that different strategies and plans are being prepared to ensure the access, fairness, quality and safety of health services. In order to prevent this, the control work is key.
Considering the current developments in science and technology and to include new and upcoming health professionals, the standards of existing health institutions should be adjusted in cooperation with the Ethiopian Standards Institute to achieve many levels. New ones in addition to being able to Health standards have been made to be prepared. These new ranks (Medical Plaza and Office Practice) will not only improve the accessibility of health services, but also better job opportunities for professionals.
The minister said that the lack of monitoring work on health institutions has made hygiene and environmental health management weak in the past three years in collaboration with Ethiopian standards institute to implement new health institutions hygiene and environmental health care standards.
As there are new levels of health and health institutions, additional levels are in the process of being prepared. In the future, the development of the health sector and the service needs of the community, there are many challenges to strengthen the control and implementation of these steps, but the work will continue strongly.
Dr. Liya said government and private health institutions should provide services by meeting national standards and issuing competence certificates. Also, health institutions should fulfil their responsibility to support the national movement to prevent transmitted diseases by meeting national hygiene and environmental health standards. Therefore, regional health officers, health supervisors, Stakeholders and Health and Health NEC organizations should do their part.
