White Ribbon day was celebrated with the theme “I respect women and protect them against domestic violence and sexual violence” in the presence of higher officials, members and invited guests of Ethiopia Federal Police headquarters.
The head of the Ethiopian Federal Police Administration Development, Deputy Commissioner General Nebyu Dase, who made a speech on the holiday for the 31st time worldwide and for the 17th time in our country, we celebrate the White Ribbon day with the slogan “I respect women and defend them against violence” Since human rights violations are attacks on the country and the people, as a law enforcement body, it should be a day where we stand up and promise to prevent violence against women.
The Deputy Commissioner General Ayayizew said that the women of our organisation have sacrificed their lives to ensure the peace and security of our country.
Ethiopian Federal Police Women and Children Directorate, Assistant Commissioner Seada Abduro said that the celebration of the White Ribbon day at institutional level is of great importance in respecting and enforcing the rights of the citizens mentioned in our constitution and preventing violence against women to accelerate the development of our country.
