Antrosh is a social holiday celebrated in Meskan Woreda to honour mothers. While it has been celebrated since ancient times, it is important to note that the delay of Antrosh holiday may lead to its disappearance. It is crucial to maintain the celebration of this important holiday. Therefore, the Woreda community, including scholars and cultural experts, should work towards preserving this tradition.
The heads of the Mesqan Woreda Women and Children’s Office, Culture and Tourism Office, and other leaders were celebrated in the presence of guests.
In addition, Indigolebt raised awareness of the benefits of lemat and encouraged backyard food production to promote self-sufficiency, economic viability and a balanced dietary system.
According to Mrs. Haregewoyin Tesfaye, the head of women and children of Meskan district, the Antrosh holiday has been celebrated in Hayat Q/Hayat since ancient times. Ms. Haregeweyn Tesfaye is responsible for preserving and respecting this tradition with the help of many scholars and cultural experts. Efforts should be made to ensure that it is passed down from generation to generation. There has been a suggestion that there should be respect for this holiday in our woreda.
Ms. Aynalem Temesgen, the director of culture and tourism of Meskan Woreda, stated that today is a special day for all mothers to celebrate, prepare a meal together, discuss secrets and dance. She emphasized the importance of preserving such cultural practices.
