It was a very emotional meeting that took place Tuesday, July 28, 2020, between the President of the National Assembly, Jeanine Mabunda Lioko and the family of the late Kisoka Philémon Tigana, the policeman brutalized during the anti-Malonda march organised by members of the ‘Udps on July 9, 2020. “I received today, with immense sadness, at the People’s Palace, the family of the policeman Kisoka Philemon Tigana, lynched by the demonstrators, during the marches organized by the UDPS on July 9. I offered them the condolences as well as the comfort of the National Assembly, ”wrote on her twitter account Ms. Jeanine Mabunda Lioko, Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament.

According to the United Nations Joint Office for Human Rights (UNJHRO), the anti-Malonda march called by the Udps had caused material damage and death of men. The UNJHRO had drawn up a toll of three deaths in particular, a police officer lynched by the militants, while the UDPS had spoken of 3 deaths among combatants. On this occasion, the Secretary General of this presidential party demanded the resignation of the vice prime minister and Minister of the Interior and Security, Gilbert Kankonde.
